SAN ANTONIO —Coming into the Western Conference Finals, Tony Parker stated that the San Antonio Spurs mindset against the Memphis Grizzlies was pretty simple: "respect the game plan."

The Spurs executed it from tip-off to buzzer with Parker keeping them on the same page the whole game.

Parker had 20 points and nine assists to lead the Spurs to a 105-83 win over the Grizzlies in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals Sunday afternoon.

Parker was 9-of-14 from the field and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line in 33 minutes. He also had just three turnovers.

"Just one of those games. It happens sometimes," said Parker on his team's performance. "Our ball movement was great tonight and I shot the ball very well.

The second-seeded Spurs came out strong in the first quarter, shooting 58 percent. They built an early 17-point lead on the Grizzlies when Matt Bonner connected on back-to-back 3-pointers, making it 29-12.

By the time Parker's 12-foot teardrop fell through the basket midway through the second quarter, the Spurs had built a 20-point lead over the Grizzlies, 43-23.

San Antonio, set a playoff record for 3-pointers made, going 14-of-29 for 48 percent against the second-ranked defense in the league.

"We shot incredibly," said Manu Ginobili. "When you are making shots like that, everything opens up and makes the game easier."

It did, as the Spurs ball movement gave them 28 assists on 40 field goals. San Antonio shot 53 percent from the field and 79 percent from the free throw line.

Lamborghini Veneno

The Lamborghini Veneno is a limited production sport car, first exhibited during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. It is a show piece based on the Lamborghini Aventador and was built to celebrate Lamborghini's 50th anniversary. The prototype, Car Zero, is finished in grey and includes an Italian flag vinyl on both sides of the car. The engine is a development of the Aventador' s 6.5L V12 and produces 750 PS (550 kW; 740 bhp).
      Only three production cars will be produced. There will be a green, white and red one, each representing a colour of the Italian flag. Car Zero, which was the vehicle on display, will be retained by the factory for the museum. The three production cars will cost ￡3.12 million each, and all three have been sold. Two are destined for the USA.
Veneno means 'Venom" in Spanish.

Everyone knew Ferrari was cooking up its first hybrid, and that it would be very quick when it was pegged as an Enzo successor. Still, we didn't quite expect the sledgehammer that is the LaFerrari. Never mind the very redundant naming scheme: there's a 789HP V12 mated with 160HP of electric power, the 949HP combination of which takes the supercar to 62MPH in less than 3 seconds and makes it the overall fastest Ferrari to date. There's a nod to eco-friendliness with relatively low emissions, but the hybrid component mostly powers a KERS system that fills out the few weak points in the torque band. You won't have the chance to buy the LaFerrari -- all 499 units of the €1 million ($1.3 million) flagship are spoken for -- but there's already talk of future hybrids that will run solely on electric power some or all of the time.

Don't be too forlorn if you have money to burn on a tech-centric Ferrari, though. The Maranello crew is also showing the very first results of its Apple collaboration through an upgraded FF. The four-seater GT now has Siri voice integration and ships with a pair of iPad minis to keep backseaters entertained when the 652HP V12 somehow isn't exciting enough. Ferrari hasn't said how much the upgraded FF costs, although we imagine that the iOS-linked costs are drops in the bucket next to the vehicle itself. Chairman Luca di Montezemolo hints that it's just the start of the Apple relationship, too, as Ferrari will be "more precise" about the union in the months ahead.
